Client (Tenant) Testimonials:
The "Versailles" Building prides itself on the renovation work that we have done, both in terms of the physical preservation of the building, as well as in creating a positive and professional environment. We are committed to helping mature, and responsible artists and small businesses find alternative space. More and more we are finding that affordable space is becoming scarcer, as many buildings are being converted to condos, etc. Whether you have been displaced by urban renewal, or you are looking for your 1st place, we hope you'll consider us. Below you will find some responses from those that we have served.

I rented Unit 207 at 62 Dike st. for 3 years. John the landlord was a joy to rent from. He displayed excellent communication, I would usually hear back from him the same day that I'd contact him. The space itself was secure, clean, and heated. If I ever moved back to Providence I would rent a work space from him again in a heartbeat. I can sincerely and honestly recommend the Versailles Building to anyone looking to rent space in that area. 10 out of 10.
~Camden

I met John nearly 7 months ago at the time we became interested in renting space in the Versailles Building. I was immediately impressed with John as he truly wanted to understand my needs and requirements. His demeanor is calming while maintaining a high level of urgency in making timely business decisions based on a mixture of analysis and good judgment. I have found John to be a man of integrity, always trying to balance the needs of his clients and stakeholders. He collaborates effectively with his management team which has also proven to be consistently responsible. John is flexible, fair, and brings out the best thinking and attitude. I respect John for his honesty, loyalty, fairness, and maturity. He is an absolute true pleasure to be associated with.

I enjoyed seeing your building and its great spots. I will be sure to extol your great studio spaces to my fellow folks at RISD.
~Courtney

I've looked at a bunch of studios in many buildings over the past couple of weeks. I definitely like yours the best, and the manager was a great host. It's a wonderful place, and I'm very impressed by how you run and maintain it. I really appreciate your efforts to accommodate my needs.
~Joel

"The space I rented at "Verse-I" is not only cheaper than my last place way out in Pawtucket, but it's also MUCH nicer!"
~Mauricio

"I had a really nice time with the manager showing me the spaces, and I much appreciated seeing this building. I've dealt with a lot of people looking at other buildings who were NOT as professional or as kind as the people at Verse-I. Just wanted to say thank you, and also that you have terrific space!"
~Luke

"Versailles is the cleanest and most affordable mill building I've seen in RI. The owner and manager are a pleasure to deal with. As a woman I feel completely safe and secure here at all hours. The building is well maintained, and it is very apparent that the owner takes pride in his property. There are no problems here at all. It's my home away from home. In fact I probably spend more time at the Versailles Building than I do at home!"
~Kim

"Having creative space in the Versailles building was a really positive experience. John and his crew are very responsive and are constantly making upgrades to the building. Space there is high quality and well priced. I was sorry to have to move on from there, but a new job came up in the D.C area. John; All the best to you moving forward. I hope whatever life-changing plans are in store for you in the next couple of years work out very well for you. Thanks for your efforts in providing good space for me."
~Peter Crellin.

"Finally, a place that is the perfect blend of function and professionalism. "Verse-I" is that rare mixture of qualities truly conducive to creative endeavors, a place where you can work as long and as hard as you like, make a little mess, make some noise, and NOT be hassled! So many other bldgs. are either too upscale, or falling apart. "Verse-I" strikes the perfect balance: clean, secure, 24hr access, & NO hidden fees or agenda from the people running it. The owners and manager are artists themselves, and they know what tenants want and are attentive to special needs. Everything is well maintained, and created with the intention of getting serious work done. The heat works well, the electric is all commercial grade, and the place has all new windows. This place is a gem. I can't recommend it highly enough, & wouldn't think of being anywhere else, a class act."
~James.

"John is the fairest landlord I have ever encountered!"
~J.P.

"I've had a lot of rehearsal spaces for my band over the years and John at Versailles has the market cornered! The rooms are safe, secure, spacious and reasonably priced! John is easily the best landlord/owner I have ever dealt with. He makes sure your experience with him is a positive one. They pride themselves at being the best and the updates and remodeling of the building speaks for itself! I've never had a problem with the building or the area. I highly recommend the Versailles Building to any artist or musician if they want privacy, security and peace of mind"
~Derrek D.

"This is a great spot for musicians or artists of any kind. John does an excellent job of positioning his tenants so that there is a nice array of bands and other artists in the same building. The spaces are clean, spacious and quiet. John is very responsive in case you need to ask a question or need to reach them for any reason. John picked up his phone on Sunday more than once when I called him. The building is very safe with multiple locks on the entry doors and the space doors. We have been here for a year and have had no issues with anyone inside or outside the building. Overall, this is a perfect space where we can keep all our equipment without fear of anything happening to it."
~Jim.

"Having studio space at Versailles is great, not only for access to affordable studio space itself, but because the owner and manager are both artists themselves. The fact that they understand what it means to be an artist or musician, especially how important it is to have work space, goes a long way toward creating an atmosphere of support and responsiveness. It is undoubtedly the best situation I've ever been in."
~Ann.

"John went the extra mile to help out with a much needed space in my time of need. He is one of the nicest landlords one could wish for. He has put a lot of effort and his time to make the Verse-I building better for all involved."
~Steve.

"John, the owner is an artist himself, and very cool. The environment is laid back, and everyone is really easy to deal with, yet John also manages to run the place efficiently."
~Alan.

"I've been in the building for 5 years, & I never plan on leaving. John is a pleasure to deal with, I've never had a problem, not once."
~Anonymous.

"Great place, great price, great people."
~Jack.

"I had a studio @ Verse-I for over 2 years. I had to move out of state, but wouldn't hesitate for a minute coming back to rent there, in fact I wouldn't even consider looking at another bldg."
~Robert.

"John, I just wanted to thank you for everything, the room is great and we are very happy to be "back in business" so to speak. Things are going well there, we are very happy."
~D.D.

"I really love your building and the freedom it allows people, and also the location is great."
~Matt.

"Verse-I is the only mill building that I've been in where the actual owner, not some management Co. handles things directly. It is refreshing. John is always easy to get a hold of anytime I've had a problem or concern. John is very supportive of artists."
~Cari.

"You won't find a nicer building for band practice spaces."
~Jack

"I like that the owner is so safety conscious, as well as environmentally aware. Verse-I is an amazing change from what else you find out there. You either get derelict buildings, or the other end of the spectrum, the uptight corporate mills. John has struck the right balance with his running of the place as well as with the community. John has even invited the local police Ltn. to the building, gave him a tour, and introduced him to the tenants. It feels comforting to know someone cares, & is watching out for us."
~Dave.

"I keep forgetting that you're an artist and one us, but you bring me back to reality every-time we talk, I think the world of ya, John."
~Jared.

"John, you've always been totally cool."
~Ben.

"John, your building is very nice, and in the last 5 years Olneyville has taking off as an artist community. Our experience has been a good one, I know you have had problems with some tenants, but while we are here you are guaranteed to have a space full of good people who are respectful, responsible and take care of the place while we are tenants."
~Jeff.

"The manager was really nice and showed us all the rooms that you mentioned, he's a great guy. All the spaces looked nice..."
~Kendrick.

"These are real people and not the corporate (enemy) type, thank God John is offering an alternative to the so called Uber fancy Office only mills, those other places don't really want artists, John is one of us."
~Al.

"John knows exactly what artists need and want, being a sickly talented one himself. He has struck the right balance of nice & clean, well run, but where you can still be creative, make some noise & not worry about disturbing your neighbors."
~Eddie.

"I've been in the building through two owners. The old people didn't care. The new owner, John has done an incredible job fixing up the building. It used to be a real dump. John has systematically gutted the whole place, and evicted the bad elements that were destroying the place. John has had to deal with a lot of crappy old tenants, & he doesn't deserve it. Nobody is doing as much with their property, and John continues to make improvments, even in the bad economy. John knows how to create loyalty.
~Sam.

"I can't imagine how much John has spent fixing this old building up, yet still offers it at a fair price, it is much appreciated."
~Sean.

"I've looked at some of the other buildings that advertise on Craigslist, and they can't compare to Versailles. Some of the other places I saw were absolute dumps, smelled, and you had to traverse a veritable labyrinth to get through the building and to the spaces, yet they still charged more $$ than Verse-I. I don't know why anybody would go anywhere else."
~Brian.

"John has actually told me he would rather have vacancies, than rent to the wrong type of tenants; thats putting his money where his mouth is! John is dedicated that's for sure, and I for one applaud it!"
~Steven.

"John, I have to say, even in evicting us you were fair, yes we were crappy tenants, and you had every right to kick us to the curb. I apologize, and have no hard feelings, good luck with you future endeavors."
~Freddie.

"John has re-built this place not only physically, but also spiritually. It's a great place to be, full of cool people."
~Chris.

"John doesn't rent to just anybody, he looks for diversity and harmony. He's a good guy, and have filled the building with other like-minded, good people."
~Jonathan.

"John is the coolest landlord ever!"
~J.

"John has done a great job with this place, fixing it up. John is a hands on type of guy, and has done a lot of work himself. I've often seen him doing projects such as insulating, putting up new sheetrock, sanding floors, and painting. He's done a great job, & it looks like it too, check out some of the before and after pics to see what I mean. It's really cool. John is proud of the work he is done, and it shows. As a tenant, I'm proud as well of being in a place where the owner goes that extra mile."
~Rob.
